Every Civic features dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags, front side airbags and side-curtain airbags. The passenger’s front side airbag has an Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) to prevent it from deploying if a child or small-statured person is detected in the airbag’s path of deployment.
